Kelly Diedring Harris

At Wildlands Network: Kelly Diedring Harris is our publicity consultant.  Currently focusing on the Eastern U.S. and Canadian media outlets, Kelly is promoting our TrekEast campaign so that people across North America can support our cause and make a difference.  She writes press releases, provides media alerts, pitches local and national media outlets, develops and maintains media relationships, and books media interviews for Wildlands Network staff.  Kelly also consults on TrekEast’s social networking strategies.

Off the Clock: In her spare time, Kelly consults for other clients and hosts television shows.  From Home Shopping Network to Daytime, a nationally syndicated morning show, Kelly loves the thrill and energy of live and taped TV.  When not working, Kelly loves shopping, wine, running with her dogs Rocky and Vino, preening her parrot, Simon, working out, and hiking or kayaking with her environmental biologist husband, Jeff.

Background: Kelly has nearly a decade of experience in the public relations and public education arenas.  She has a B.S. degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Missouri and a Masters degree from the University of South Florida in Mass Communications/Public Relations.

Pursuing her passion for wildlife, Kelly’s career highlights advocacy for animal and environmental conservation.  As a national spokesperson for SeaWorld/Busch Gardens and their Conservation Fund, she traveled the country doing TV media blitzes focusing on the importance of conservation.  Appearing with animals, she has educated TV audiences on many national shows such as CNN Headline News, The Morning Show, CMT, The Daily Buzz, Fox and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

A natural competitor and animal enthusiast, she was the winner of Animal Planet's reality show King of the Jungle.  Her next project for Animal Planet was hosting a documentary filmed on location in Kenya's Masai Mara animal preserve about the Great Migration of the Wildebeest.  Additional TV roles include co-hosting the Emmy-nominated Adventure Camp which aired on Discovery Kids and BBC and NASA SCI Files: The Case of the Zany Animal Antics.

Currently, Kelly is a monthly featured guest, appearing with animals as "Queen of the Jungle" on    Channel 8's Daytime/Tampa Bay.  She also appears regularly on The Home Shopping Network (HSN).
