At Wildlands Network: Lise Meinke is our Social Media Manager. She is the content manager for the Facebook page, Twitter accounts and YouTube channel and assists with the website. She works with the Communication team in future social media planning for the organization.
Off the Clock: Lise lives on a three acre mini-farm in Land O’ Lakes, Florida with her husband Jeff and their teenage son, Sam. She enjoys taking care of the many farm animals/pets: Dolly the Donkey, Cookie the hand-raised pig, goats, chickens, rabbits, parrots, two dogs and an adopted cat. She has a passion for working the land and loves to garden, growing her own fruits and vegetables.
Background: Lise graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in Anthropology. Right after graduation she worked as a Zoo Camp Counselor at the Busch Gardens Theme Park in Tampa Florida. She worked at the park for 28 years until retiring in January 2010. She held many positions in the Zoo: Zoo-Keeper of the African animal collection, Mother to a variety of baby animals in the nursery and Manager in the Zoo Education and Conservation department overseeing the guided VIP tours. Lise is a certified green consultant and a graduate of the University of Florida Master Gardener Program.
