Help Protect Threatened Wildlife Linkages in the Borderlands!

The Wildlands Project's vision for a Spine of the Continent Megalinkage will become successful only if the regional Wildlands Networks that make up this megalinkage become reality. The Sky Islands Wildlands Network is a critical component in this process, and protection of its Borderlands Wildlife Linkage is a top priority for achieving connectivity both in the Sky Islands and along the Spine of the Continent. Your help is needed now!

What You Can Do:

  1. Call or email (via their websites below) your federal and state elected officials urging them to include protection of Borderlands Wildlife Linkages in new border-related legislation.
  2. Call or write the U.S. Border Patrol and ask them to include protection of Borderlands Wildlife Linkages in all future proposals for expanded border fencing and infrastructure.
  3. Contact our regional partner group, Defenders of Wildlife, and volunteer to assist with Borderlands Wildlife Linkage protection projects. Call 520-623-9653; email
  4. Send a Letter-to-the Editor to your local newspaper promoting Borderlands Wildlife Linkage protection. Focus on the threats to wildlife posed by border security infrastructure.
  5. See the Wildlands Project website for more information; call 520-884-0875; or email
